Feature Release August 2024

Feature Release August 2024

You might have noticed some small but helpful changes to Sustainimaps this week.

Features: Declared Area

EUDR allows plots under 4 hectares to be reported as a coordinate pair instead of a polygon. Although no buffer is required, some choose to add one as a risk mitigation measure. When reporting plots using points, the EUDR mandates that the area size be declared. In accordance with this, we have made the following changes:

  • Users can include a reported area at import.
  • Users can edit reported areas on the Asset Management page.
  • Point assets must have a reported area between 0 and 4 hectares to be included in a deforestation-free statement.
  • The Asset Management page will warn users when a point asset has an invalid or missing reported area.

Quality of Life

  • You can now copy map coordinates by holding CTRL + left click
  • Map filters are now cached, meaning when you switch between the Filter tab and Asset Check or Spot Check tabs, you no longer need to wait for the filters to load.
  • Asset count responses are cached, so when you select filter combinations that have been counted before, you no longer need to wait to see the count.

There’s more to come too! We have some very exciting updates due in September when we’ll release new data layers, which will address many instances of false-positive alerts. Please reach out to the team for a live demo or to discuss further.
